Then, we just booked a show at Johnny D's on Wednesday May 18th, so all you Somervillans mark your calendars!

Then I make a few rare solo appearances. On Thursday, May 19th Erin plays an opening set at Cafe 939 with David Mayfield Parade and Jack Grace, this show is $10, all ages and Erin's set is at 8pm. Then on Saturday, May 21st the Boston Blues Society presents "Ladies of the Blues" at The Bull Run in Shirley, an all-women show featuring 10 local blueswomen, from the up-and-coming to local legends Toni Lynn Washington and Shirley Lewis.

The list of blues superstars on the bill has been steadily growing, and we are SO HONORED to have the support of so many in the blues scene! This will be a once-in-a-lifetime show, it's for a great cause, and it's CHEAP! For only $10 you get to see Phil Pemberton and Roomful of Blues, Danny Klein's Full House, James Montgomery, Dennis Brennen, Tim Gearan, The 11th Hour Band, Erin Harpe & the Delta Swingers, Alizon Lissance, Geoff Bartley, Satch Romano & Cindy Daley, and MORE! Hosted by Holly Harris and Jim Carty!

From Austin, TX the Stone River Boys bring their country/roots/soul sound to Johnny D's on Wednesday, October 27th. Their fun, funky and soulful show is over the top, described as the love child of Waylon Jennings and Mable John, and they've even made up their own dance called ""The Struggle" which has to be seen to be believed!

We go on at 8pm! 21+, $10. 17 Holland Street, Davis Square, Somerville MA. Right across the street from the Davis Square T stop!

WE DID IT! With your help, support and love we won the 2010 Boston Blues Challenge, and we are GOING TO MEMPHIS in February to represent Boston in the International Blues Challenge! We are so excited!! Beale Street here we come!

Sunday night was the Finals, it was a really great show and all the bands were awesome. Thanks to all those who came out to the show to support, to all those who sent us love and luck, and to all the other bands who took part in this year's Challenge! T-MODEL FORD comes to the Boston area with Marty Reinsel, from the Seattle based band Gravelroad, on drums.

Opening the show is Massachusetts' own purveyors of North Mississippi Hill Country Blues & Punk Blues - The Ten Foot Polecats.

A little about James T-Model Ford:

T-Model's credentials are impeccable; if anything he's over qualified. He was born James Lewis Carter Ford in Forrest, a small community in Scott County, Mississippi. He was plowing a field behind a mule on his family's farm by age eleven, and in his early teens he secured a job at a local sawmill. He excelled and was later recruited by a foreman from a bigger lumber company in the Delta, near Greenville, and eventually got promoted to truck driver.

Between that and working in a log camp T-Model was sentenced to ten years on a chain-gang for murder. He lucked out and was released after serving two. He says, grinning, "I could really stomp some ass back then, stomp it good. I was a-sure-enough- dangerous man." When asked how many times he'd been to jail, T-Model responded, "I don't know. Every Saturday night there for awhile."

As disheartening as this is, it's also a refreshing reminder of how ridiculous the present image of a bluesman is.

The band will feature backing me up: Jim Countryman on bass, Sam Marshall on mandolin and Ryan Dryburgh on drums! This show is free and all ages, at Grizzly's bar/restaurant on the mountain!

Halloween Show!

I'm playing my first Satuday night blues show in a long while, and it's on Halloween night!!! Stop by after trick-or-treating for some wicked Halloween blues. I play one set at 10pm followed by Pete Weiss and The Weisstronauts! The Rosebud Diner is right in Davis Square, on the Red Line! Costumes?? You bet!! Admission: $5, 21+.
