Hello, and happy March!
Spring is in the air… Wishful thinking, I’m sure, but today was a beautiful, sunny, above freezing day here in Boston. It felt nice. I’ve been thinking a lot about my friend Roy Book Binder, who passed away yesterday. He was a great bluesman, a legendary storyteller, and a friend of my dad’s since I was a baby, so I kinda grew up with him. It was very sad news, such a huge loss for the country blues world. I’m really glad we were able to visit him on our Florida tour last year. We spent a wonderful afternoon, getting a tour of his guitars (he was a collector of early Gibson parlor guitars like my dad), and listening to his stories over pecan pie. Rest easy, Roy, we love you!

This week, we’re headed down to Philadelphia for a show this Friday (3/6) at the fabulous Jamey’s House Of Music, one of our favorite spots. We hope to see all our Philly friends there! And the good news is, if you’re not in the area, you can attend this show virtually! We actually have two shows this month that have a livestream option, so I hope you will attend one, or both! The other one is at Caffè Lena on Sunday March 22. Ticket links are below for both options! We also have a special Boston show with The Delta Swingers at Boston Harbor Distillery Saturday March 14th, and we’re coming to Buttonball Barn Thursday March 26th and the Firehouse Center For The Arts Saturday March 28th. Blues Music Award Nomination!
Have you voted yet? We are extremely honored to have received our very first Blues Music Award nomination from The Blues Foundation in Memphis, as you may have heard if you read my email blast or follow me on socials. Our new album is up for ACOUSTIC BLUES ALBUM OF THE YEAR! We need all the votes we can get, so I’m asking for your help – vote and spread the word!! The catch – you must be a current member of The Blues Foundation to vote – it’s just $25 to join. It is a great organization and worth it though!
