Happy December!
It’s nice to be home, hanging out with our kitty Elwood, and getting ready for our last show of the year at Theodore’s in Springfield MA with our band the Delta Swingers (how we have missed them!). It’s been a wild year in many ways and quite a whirlwind – with lots of touring: a 3-week Florida tour, 2 overseas tours (Spain & UK). And in between, Jim and I managed to finish our new album (the first in a series of tributes to my country blues heroes), and I also designed & published my first book of tablature to go along with it! We’re a very DIY organization, and since I was a graphic designer in another life, I was also the one who designed the album cover, CD, LP, and tablature book. Luckily, I was able to get it all finished before we left for the UK in mid-October… and the response has been really great!
Album News:
The new album, “Let The Mermaids Flirt With Me: A Tribute To Mississippi John Hurt”, came out on October 24th – and even though we were on tour in the UK during that time, it’s been doing very well. In fact, I just now received another glowing review, this one from Paris-Move in France, who rated it “Indispensable” (ie. “a must” or “essential” – their equivalent of SIX STARS!)!
The album’s already been in the charts, with one of the songs even debuting at #1! It was also chosen as one of 3 “Picks of the Month” by the UK Blues Broadcasters Association. (Big thanks to The Whisky Rev for nominating us!) You can see all the full reviews here.
We really appreciate all the support we’ve been getting with this release, and I want to thank you so much for your continued support, for reading my newsletter and keeping up with me and my music. For purchasing music and merchandise, and coming out to shows. For following me on social media, sharing a kind word, listening to and sharing our music. You keep us going!

A few of our favorite moments of 2025!
There were so many great times this year. Not only in the UK, but also in Florida, at the Philly Blues Fest, the John Jackson Blues Festival, the Greenbelt Blues Festival, as well as shows around Spain with our friends Sara Gee & Ramblin’ Matt. We did some really fun shows with our bands Lovewhip, the Delta Swingers and CBD… And it was wonderful to see so many friends & family along the way! xoxo, Erin
