A Love Letter to the Country Blues

The alternating bass you hear in my playing? That’s all from Mississippi John Hurt! I learned many of his songs from my dad, Neil Harpe, who also loved his work and even did a wonderful drawing of him that you’ll get to see when the album comes out!!
Jim and I wanted to capture the warm, up-close feeling of Hurt’s original recordings, so we recorded this album live in our home studio—vocals, guitar, and bass all at once. The result is an intimate listening experience that makes you feel like you’re right in the room with us!
