Erin Harpe’s new album “Meet Me In The Middle”, is out now on VizzTone/Juicy Juju Records!
2019’s New England Blues Artist of the Year, and lead-singer/guitarist of Erin Harpe & the Delta Swingers – Erin grew up learning fingerstyle guitar from her dad, Neil Harpe, and watching local piedmont blues luminaries such as John Cephas & Phil Wiggins, John Jackson, Warner Williams, Eleanor Ellis and many others at Washington DC’s famed Archie’s Barbershop. Erin goes back to her roots for her new album “Meet Me In The Middle,” the follow-up to her band’s 2018 album “The Christmas Swing”. Recorded in isolation during the pandemic, using limited equipment in their home studio, the stripped-down album stars Erin on acoustic guitars, 12-string, vocals, kazoo and foot percussion, and husband/bass player Jim Countryman on the amazingly-small-yet-big-sounding ukelele bass and vocals. Featuring originals, traditionals, and Erin’s unique arrangements of songs by blueswomen from Memphis Minnie to Lucille Bogan, with styles from traditional country blues and slide guitar to folk, gospel and Zydeco.
