More Background:

Erin Harpe has been playing country blues since she was a kid, getting her chops from her virtuoso dad, roots/blues musician, Stella guitar expert, and visual artist Neil Harpe. She is an award-winning bandleader (Erin Harpe & the Delta Swingers, Lovewhip) who learned the blues sitting at the knees of the greats at Archie’s Barbershop, Washington DC’s epicenter of the Piedmont Blues. Her award-winning Country Blues Duo, aka “CBD”, features Erin on acoustic guitars, vocals, kazoo & foot percussion, with husband Jim Countryman on ukulele bass, backing vocals and train whistle. The pair’s foot-stomping front-porch blues transports the audience to the delta, with vintage classics by the likes of Memphis Minnie, Mississippi John Hurt, Tommy Johnson and Blind Blake, mixed in seamlessly with original compositions, and country blues takes on popular songs.
