LOVE WHIP BLUES – the debut album, being released internationally Nov. 4th, 2014 on VizzTone, includes 10 songs that feature Erin’s dynamic voice and finger-picking guitar. “The Delta Swing” is an acoustic and tremelo guitar-fueled swing tune with a shout-out to the band’s hometown of JP; title track “Love Whip Blues” has a shimmying tom-tom beat and sassy lyrics; “Future Blues” is an upbeat reworking of pioneering 1930’s delta blues musician Willie Brown’s song; “Good Luck Baby” is a catchy, upbeat-but-wistful soul number; “The M&O Blues” is a slow, greasy blues number featuring acclaimed guitarist Bob Margolin (Muddy Waters band); “One Way Man” features Erin on her 1934 National steel guitar; “Pick Poor Robin Clean” has a sparse acoustic arrangement with delightful old-school jazz guitar lead; “Virtual Booty Blues” is a danceable re-interpretation of Virtual Booty Machine (a Lovewhip song), and is a big crowd favorite; “Charles River Delta Blues” is a slow 12-bar blues with Erin on electric guitar; and “Angel From Montgomery” is a very unorthodox version of the John Prine classic famously recorded by Bonnie Raitt – in the Delta Swingers’ hands it’s re-imagined and swingin’.
